The ability to heal is one of the most remarkable properties of human tissue. After a skin is injured, the deep tissues regenerate to repair the wound and bring it to the normal skin surface level. Then the epidermis closes up from the edges of the wound.
Skin could be irritated / injured from everyday activities (scratches, scrapes, cuts, small burns), post-procedure, hair removal, diaper rash, or peri-oral dermatitis. Some first-aid advices: - In case of an injury (even a minor one), you should cleanse it well with a soap-free gentle cleanser. Then apply skin recovery products over the wound to protect the lesion and speed tissue repair.
- If a foreign body is deeply embedded in the wound, don’t attempt to remove it yourself; go see your doctor immediately.
- Before you remove a splinter, cleanse the tweezers with 90% alcohol.
